Our story
Carlos Diaz Construction is a hardscape contractor based in Central Islip, New York. We build with pavers, bluestone, block and natural stone: patios, driveways, walkways, steps, pool decks, retaining walls, fire pits and complete outdoor living spaces.
Much of our work comes from homeowners in Suffolk County who want the outside of the house to match what they have done inside it. Others call us when an old patio or driveway has settled, cracked or started to hold water.
We keep the business local. The person who walks the property with you is the person you can call while the work is under way, and the crew that starts the job is the crew that finishes it.
How we work
Every project starts with the ground under it. We look at drainage, the condition of the existing surface and how the space needs to shed water before we talk about patterns and colors.

If a repair is enough, we say so. If the base has failed and the surface needs rebuilding, we explain why and what it costs.

The part you never see — excavation, base, compaction and drainage — is what decides how a paver surface performs over the years.
